Georgia Off-Road
Expedition
7 days through the wildest roads of the Caucasus mountains
Where Are We Going?
The raw, untamed side of Georgia. Extreme roads, remote mountains, real adventure.
The Adventure Begins
Our off-road adventure starts at Kutaisi Airport, where the team will be waiting. From there we head to the expedition base in Chiatura to meet the crew over a glass of Georgian wine.
The Road to Omalo
A 4x4 trip that demands courage and skill. The road to Omalo is considered one of the most dangerous in the world, winding through narrow mountain passes with unforgettable views of the Caucasus peaks and valleys.
Vashlovani National Park
The alternative route takes you into a desert-like, almost lunar landscape scorched by the sun. No phone signal, no other travelers. Just border guards, wild nature, and several hundred kilometers of gravel roads.

The Route
Kutaisi Airport
Upon arrival, our team will pick you up and transport you to the FSTA expedition base in Chiatura.
Chiatura Expedition Base
Your first night starts here. Meet the crew over a glass of Georgian wine and talk about the adventure ahead.
Telavi
The main city and administrative center of Kakheti. Located on a hill above the Alazani Valley, it offers stunning views of the Greater Caucasus. The city is full of historic monuments, castles, a cathedral, a royal residence, and a huge plane tree, the most famous tree in all of Georgia. We will also visit the bustling local bazaar.
Omalo
A picturesque village in the heart of the Tusheti region, surrounded by the majestic Caucasus Mountains. Famous for its traditional defensive towers and rich history. You reach it by driving through the Abano Pass at 2,850 meters above sea level. The road to Omalo is one of the most exciting drives you will ever experience.
Dartlo
A village located 12 kilometers from Omalo. Medieval residential towers and stone houses with beautiful wooden balconies create a fairy-tale atmosphere.
Vashlovani National Park
Located in southeastern Georgia on the border with Azerbaijan. A unique semi-desert landscape of dry steppes, wide plains, and picturesque gorges. Home to lynxes, wolves, and vultures. We spend two nights here. The dry areas feature limestone cliffs and canyons that give the park a rugged, wild character. As a bonus, we visit mud volcanoes.
David Gareja
About 15 km from Udabno, on the border between Georgia and Azerbaijan, lies the David Gareja monastery. Founded in the 6th century by one of thirteen Syrian monks. On the way to the monastery, you will see the stunning colorful mountains.
Udabno
A small village in dry, steppe lands, famous for its proximity to the David Gareja monastery. We stop here for a well-deserved rest at the Oasis Club, a special place that brings together travelers from around the world. Our wonderful hosts are Kinga and Ksawery, Poles who were so enchanted by this place that they decided to stay and live here.
Tbilisi
One of the most atmospheric capitals in the world. The main attractions are concentrated in Old Tbilisi. The city is famous for its sulfur baths powered by natural hot springs. Near Shardeni Street you will find modern restaurants, outdoor cafes, nightclubs, and art galleries. History meets modernity here.
Chiatura Base
We return to our base for a traditional Georgian supra. Wine will flow freely and there will be endless toasts. A perfect way to close the expedition.
